BEFORE YOU BUY
The questions we actually get asked.
Including the ones with answers you would rather we did not give. If yours is not here, email us and a person will write back.
Size for the dog he becomes, not the dog he is. A bed bought for an 18 lb four-month-old is useless by his first birthday. Our size finder asks his breed, age in months and weight today, then tells you the adult weight he is heading for, roughly when he stops growing, and which of the four sizes he finishes on. It takes about thirty seconds and it is free whether you buy or not.
Yes, and this is the case the size finder was built for. Choose 'mixed breed, rescue, or I don't know', then give us his age in months and what he weighs today. Weight and age together are enough to project an adult weight without knowing the breed at all. If he is already fully grown, tick the box and we size on what he weighs now.
Nothing. Shipping is free anywhere in Canada, whatever size you order. Orders are dispatched within 1-2 business days and usually arrive 3-5 business days after that, with tracking. We do not ship outside Canada yet.
Yes. Every bed comes with a 30-night trial. If it isn't right for him, for any reason, including the size, tell us within 30 nights of delivery and we refund 100% of what you paid. You don't post it back. A used dog bed can't be resold, so instead you drop it at a local animal shelter or rescue, send us a photo, and another dog gets a bed. One trial per household. After that, faults are covered by the 3-year warranty.
Email brunoandco.pets@gmail.com with your order ID, a short description, clear photos of the fault and of the whole bed, and a short video showing it. The video is required on every claim. We acknowledge within 3-5 business days; because a valid claim goes to the manufacturer, a full review can take up to 15 business days. If it is a genuine defect we replace the bed at no cost to you. Keep the bed until the claim is closed.
Three separate layers, not one bag of stuffing. A memory foam top that takes his shape, a cooling gel layer under it, and a firm support base — the layer that decides whether he can feel the floor. Three inches of foam on Small and Medium, four inches on Large and Extra Large. No egg crate, no loose polyester fill.
The whole cover comes off as one piece, bolsters included, and goes in the machine. Cold wash, tumble dry low. That one decision answers the most common complaint in the entire category: bolsters sewn into the cover mean a bed you cannot properly wash, and a bed you cannot wash is a bed you throw away. Underneath the cover, a water-protective liner comes in the box and fits between the cover and the foam to keep spills off the foam core.
The outer fabric is water-resistant, not waterproof, and we would rather tell you that now than have you find out. A water-protective liner comes in the box and fits between the cover and the foam — you fit it yourself — so everyday spills and accidents do not reach the foam core. The cover itself comes off and goes in the machine. A determined puppy and a full bladder will still beat it.
The underside is a non-skid backing that grips hard floors, so it stays where your dog puts it rather than travelling across the kitchen every time he turns over.
No. Most orthopedic beds are sold for one stage of a dog's life, usually the older one. Ours is built for big dogs from puppy to senior: a puppy sleeps most of the day while he grows, a grown dog needs a bed that does not flatten under him, and an older dog wants somewhere soft to settle. We are not vets and we will not promise you a medical outcome. What we will say is that the surface he sleeps on for most of the day is worth getting right from the start.
Honestly, a determined chewer will get through any dog bed, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling. The zip is YKK and recessed so it is not an obvious target, and chewing damage is not covered by the warranty. If he is in a heavy chewing phase, it is worth waiting until he is out of it.
Designed by us in Kitchener, Ontario, and made to our specification by our manufacturing partner. The design came out of reading the one-star reviews on the beds people were already buying, then testing samples until one came back right. Every feature on it started life as somebody else's one-star review.
Yes, and it is the best way to decide. We take a bed to markets, parks and expos around southern Ontario - your dog gets on it, you feel the foam, and we size him on the spot. Our next stops are listed on the events page.
